Members of the lead cast of Karan Johar's Ae Dil Hai Mushkil — Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Fawad Khan — are not likely to promote the film. Apparently, they had discussed their conditions with the filmmaker before they had signed the dotted line.
They have their reasons and if any of what is being written is true then those reasons are valid. Fawad is all set to become father for the second time, which is why he wants be around his wife and the child as much as he can. Basically, he is taking a paternity break and has excused himself from the promotional activities, DNA reported.
However, Aishwarya will be present for the trailer and music launches, but won't be available for the multi-city tours that Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma are going to be a part of. Aishwarya had reportedly told Karan that she needed to be with daughter Aaradhya and therefore extensive travels wouldn't be feasible.
Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is special for Karan because it marks his return to the director's chair after six years. Essentially a romantic-drama, the film follows the stories of four individuals and how unrequited love changes them in ways they don't understand.
Scheduled to release on October 28, ADHM is out on the same day as Ajay Devgn's Shivaay. Although, both the films belong to different genres, which means target audiences are different, there's a stiff competition between the two.
Earlier this month, there was a massive controversy about how Kamaal R Khan was paid Rs 25 lakh by Karan to trash Shivaay. At one point, Ajay was considering an in-depth investigation into the matter but it fizzled out after Karan refused to honour the rumour with any kind of response.
