Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan recently opened up about her father-in-law Amitabh Bachchan winning the National Award. The veteran actor was honoured with the Best Actor title for his brilliant performance in "Piku."
Aishwarya, while interacting with the media at the L'Oreal Women of Worth Awards 2016, was asked about the honour Amitabh received. She said that it is not the first time the megastar has got the National Award and she is proud of him.
"It is not the first time and deservedly so. We are very very proud that Paa (Amitabh) won the national award yet again for a performance he deserved," Aishwarya said at the event.
"I feel every performance of his deserves to be celebrated by the audience and members of the media. I thank you for all the love. Thank you on the behalf of Paa for all the congratulatory messages. We love Paa and god bless him for entertaining us," the actress added.
The former Miss World looked gorgeous in a Tarun Tahiliani's white saree. After attending the Women of Worth Awards, the actress visited Sanjay Leela Bhansali's party that he hosted to celebrate the National Award win.
Apart from Amitabh, Sanjay Leela Bhansali was honoured with the Best Director award for "Bajirao Mastani." Kangana Ranaut bagged Best Actress honour for "Tanu Weds Manu Returns" at the 63rd National Film Awards, while one of the biggest blockbusters "Baahubali – The Beginning" bagged the Best Feature Film Award.
