The year 2016 will see two big budget movies on wrestling starring two of the biggest stars of Bollywood. Aamir Khan's "Dangal" and Salman Khan's "Sultan," both based on wrestling, are set to be released this year.
There are several similarities in "Dangal" and "Sultan" and thus many comparisons have been drawn between the two. But Aamir feels that there is no competition. In fact, during an event in Mumbai, the actor said that Salman's "Sultan" will be a good film.
"Salman's films are always very good. I have a lot of expectations from 'Sultan'. I am sure it will be a good film. Like everyone I also wait eagerly for his film," Aamir told reporters at the screening of "Neerja," according to DNA.
Salman plays a wrestler in "Sultan," but his film is a complete entertainer with romance, action and drama. On the other hand, Aamir's "Dangal" is biographical sports-drama directed by Nitesh Tiwari.
Aamir plays the role of wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat who taught wrestling to his daughters Babita Kumari and Geeta Phogat. And for the role, the actor underwent drastic change in his looks. Earlier, Aamir gained weight and sported salt and pepper look for the scenes, in which he plays a 55-year-old. And now, he has been asked to lose 25 kgs in 25 weeks.
"It will be 'Ghajini' look again. For this film, I had to lose and gain weight. I had to gain 25 kg weight in six months and in the beginning my character is young...national level champion wrestler. I have to shoot for the young part," Aamir said.
"Like how Sushil Kumar has muscular look...like 'Ghajini'...I have to get that look. I am working on that, it will take six months," he added.
"Dangal," produced by Disney and Aamir Khan Productions, is slated to be released on Christmas 2016, while Salman's "Sultan" will release on Eid 2016.
