Since the release of Mohanlal's "Drishyam," Malayalam movies have been crossing the prestigious one crore mark within a day at the multiplexes in Kochi. Among the highest grossing movies at the Kochi multiplexes is Disney's "The Jungle Book", which generated a collection of Rs. 3.72 crore.
The Malayalam movies in the high grossers list include "Jacobinte Swargarajyam" and "Bangalore Days." Nivin Pauly's family entertainer is said to have generated a collection of Rs. 2.94 crore as of now, and is still running in PVR in Lulu Mall in the city. The Vineeth Sreenivasan-directed movie is followed by Dulquer Salmaan, Nivin Pauly, Fahadh Faasil, Nazriya Nazim and Parvathy-starrer "Bangalore Days," which has collected approximately Rs. 2.87 crore from Kochi multiplexes alone.
The other movies in the list include Nivin's, "Premam," which was well accepted by the audience. The romantic family entertainer made a collection of Rs. 2.75 crore from the multiplexes. Meanwhile, the movie, starring Sai Pallavi, Madonna Sebastian and Anupama Parameshwaran in female lead roles, had a tremendous reception in Tamil Nadu and completed more than 250 days at the Chennai box office, becoming the highest grosser of Nivin in the state.
Prithviraj Sukumaran, Indrajith Sukumaran, and Jayasurya's "Amar Akbar Anthony", Dileep's "Two Countries," Mohanlal's "Drishyam," Prithviraj's "Ennu Ninte Moideen," Nivin's "Oru Vadakkan Selfie", and Dulquer Salmaan's "Charlie" are the top 10 grossing films at the Kochi multiplexes. Interestingly, it is Nivin, who tops the list with four highest grossing movies.
