After much anticipation, Sony finally revealed that Tom Hardy will star as Eddie Brock in the forthcoming Venom movie, which will be directed by Zombieland helmer Ruben Fleischer.
The studio also unveiled a picture of the Taboo actor on Twitter in which he's wearing a Venom T-shirt. it was captioned as "Tom Hardy is Eddie Brock in #Venom, the upcoming film from Sony's Marvel Universe releasing October 5, 2018 – production starts this fall."
After Spider-Man: Homecoming, Venom is the first solo movie from Sony's Marvel and the Spider-Man-based universe of characters. Sony is also developing other movies solely based on Spidey characters including Silver Sable and Black Cat.

In the Marvel universe, Venom aka Eddie Brock is the arch-enemy of Spider-Man, who previously appeared on the big screen, played by Topher Grace in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 3. Ever since the film got released in 2007, Tom Holland's Spidey will next appear in Spider-Man: Homecoming.

With his brilliant acting skills, Tom Hardy is the perfect choice to play Eddie Brock. Brock aka Venom previously appeared on the big screen, played by Topher Grace in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 3. Now fans have to wait to see that how apt Hardy could be while stepping into the shoes of Topher Grace.
Spider-Man: Homecoming will hit theatres on July 7, 2017 while Venom movie will release in 2018.
