Superstar Salman Khan is a godfather to many actors in Bollywood and one of them is Katrina Kaif. Though the hunk has never taken credit for anyone's career, this time Salman had suggested his advice was instrumental in building Katrina's career.
Salman is currently busy promoting Tubelight with director Kabir Khan. In one of the interactions, he told DNA that he had asked Katrina to do New York. If you remember, New York helped Katrina leave a mark in Bollywood.
Was it unintentional or Salman wanted people to know who is behind Katrina's success? It was reported that Salman was impressed with Kabir's work in Kabul Express and thus, advised Kat to take up the movie, New York.
"Kabir and I have known each other before Ek Tha Tiger. He had first shown me his work in Kabul Express way back. Having seen Kabir's work, I told her (Katrina) she must do the film (New York). It had a different setting and dealt with the subject of terrorism and it seemed very interesting. Subsequently, Katrina began to share a great rapport with him," Salman told DNA.
Katrina and Salman used to date at that time and now also, they share a good rapport. In fact, the duo is appearing in a movie together for the first time after their break up. They will be seen romancing each other in Ali Abbas Zafar's Tiger Zinda Hai.
It is said that Salman gave emotional support to Katrina when she and Ranbir Kapoor broke up last year. Interestingly, Ranbir and Kat are also appearing in Anurag Basu's movie, Jagga Jasoos.
