Samsung Galaxy Note 7 was met with misfortune and also drilled a deep loss in the company's earnings. The South Korean tech giant made up for the mishap with its stunning Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ smartphones, but it is not willing to give up on its injured soldier – Galaxy Note 7.
It is pretty much confirmed that Samsung will bring the Galaxy Note 7 to the market, but as refurbished units. Reports have suggested the refurbished Galaxy Note 7 will be called Galaxy Note 7R, where the letter "R" stands for refurbished. But a new report suggests that the refurbished Galaxy Note 7 will carry a different moniker.
According to a fresh report originating from South Korea, the refurbished Galaxy Note 7 will be called Galaxy Note FE, where "FE" will stand for "Fan Edition." The new moniker will be printed on the back of the phone for identification.
The name suggests that the refurbished Galaxy Note 7 will be targeted mainly towards hardcore Note 7 fans, who did not have the chance to use the phone for longer than a few months. The Galaxy Note FE's launch is imminent, and it will give the company a chance to reconstruct its damaged image following the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco.
Even though the company will bring back its ill-fated Galaxy Note 7, it will have a hard time convincing buyers. But reports have it that the company will sell the handset for 30-50 percent less than the original cost, which will easily make up for the lost trust in the device.
The handset's specifications will remain the same, and leaked reports have already shown that the refurbished Galaxy Note 7 has already passed FCC, WiFi, and Bluetooth certification. Key specs of the handset include a 5.7-inch QHD dual edged display, Exynos 8890 chipset, 4GB RAM, 12MP dual-pixel rear camera, 5MP front snapper and a 3,200mAh battery.
The refurbished Galaxy Note 7 is expected to hit only the South Korean market, and its international availability is still a matter of mystery. Stay tuned for updates.
