Suzy Bae is famous, an accomplished actress and is dating one of the most loved celebrities in South East Asia. The miss A singer has a million and more fans who support her unconditionally. So it wasn't altogether surprising when news of Suzy's wax figure in Madame Tussauds was reported.
However, the singer/ actress did set a record. Lee Min-ho's girlfriend is the first female Korean celebrity to have her own wax figure at Madame Tussauds in Hong Kong. "The Sound of a Flower" actress will stand among other luminaries such as Choi Siwan, Lee Jong-suk, Jin Xiuxian and others.
Suzy's statue will no doubt be placed in the Hong Kong museum's Korean Wave zone, an area that was launched in 2015. Madame Tussaud's K-wave zone is one of the biggest star attractions of the museum, which attracts dozens of visitors each year.
According to reports, sculptors from England visited the 21-year-old K-pop artist and spent around seven hours while taking her measurements.
"As the first Korean female artist to be invited to Madame Tussauds, it's such an honor. Taking part in the long process of creating a wax figure was a new experience, and I want to say thank you to the production team. I'm looking forward to the day that the figure is up for fans to see," Soompi quoted Suzy as saying.
The outlet also reported that Suzy's wax figure will be unveiled in August 2016 and the actress will be present in Hong Kong during that time. Earlier, Super Junior member Choi Siwon was invited to be the honorary guest at the opening ceremony of the K-wave zone, which was launched with seven Korean celebrities.
Meanwhile, Suzy and Kim Woo Bin's recent Korean drama, "Uncontrollably Fond" premiered on Wednesday, KBS2TV. The TV show received mixed reactions from fans, who commented on her poor acting skills.
