Dulquer Salmaan and Nithya Menen had mesmerised the audience with their chemistry in Mani Ratnam's romantic entertainer O Kadhal Kanmani (OK Kanmani). The movie, which was well accepted by the fans of the actors, have been officially remade in Bollywood as OK Jaanu, starring rumoured couple Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor.

The makers of the upcoming movie had recently released the official trailer of the Shaad Ali directorial, which is being scripted and bankrolled by Mani Ratnam and Karan Johar under the banners Madras Talkies and Dharma Productions, respectively. The two-minute-57-second video has been opened to a positive response from netizens, who are eagerly awaiting to see the Aashiqui 2 pair again on big screen.

Young star Dulquer has also lauded the team of OK Jaanu while commenting on the trailer that was released on December 12. Calling the remake version as a wonderful take on the original movie, he tweeted: "This is such a wonderful take on #OKKanmani ! Lots of love to Karan, Shaad, Aditya, Shraddha and the whole team [sic]."
In response, Karan has also thanked DQ for his good words about the remake movie. "Thanks a ton Dulqer!! You have set the bar so high....I hope we live up!!! Lots of love.... [sic],' he tweeted. DQ soon replied saying: "@karanjohar as always you're too kind !! You guys will rock #OkJaanu [sic]."

OK Jaanu narrates the story of a young couple Aditya and Tara, who are in a live-in relationship in Mumbai at the house owned by Naseeruddin Shah and Leela Samson's characters. How the aged couple influences the life of the youngsters is being narrated in the movie, which also goes through some emotional moments towards the climax. OK Jaanu has been scheduled to hit the screens on 13 January 2017.
