Television heartthrob Barun Sobti recently made news when reports of the actor returning to the small screen after "Iss Pyaar ko Kya Naam Doon" surfaced. Barun has been roped in to play the lead in the upcoming finite series produced by BBC.
According to an Absolute India report, Barun will play the role of a cop named Satya in the thriller show, which is tentatively titled "Satya Ki Kiran." Satya lives with his parents and in one of his important missions, he will encounter a con girl named Kiran, played by Shivani Tomar. The duo will eventually fall in love. Earlier, there were reports that Krishna Mukherjee of "Jhalli Angali" fame was considered for the role. But the deal didn't materialise and the role went to Shivani.
"Barun is set to play a cop named Satya and for the first time in his acting career, as he is known for his romantic stint. The show, a romantic action packed story, is tentatively titled Satya Ki Kiran. While Satya, will be staying with his step parents and his sister will be an underworld don," a source told the daily.
"Satya will be on an important mission and will encounter with a con girl played by Shivani Tomar (Kiran). Shivani's role aka Kiran will eventually fall in love with Satya. The shooting will be held in some parts of Rishikesh, followed by a stint in Delhi. While it's a finite series of 26 episodes and will launch by last week of April," the source added.
Apparently, Barun will start shooting for the show from March-end. The shooting will be held in some parts of Rishikesh and Delhi.
