Kapil Sharma and his team are all set to entertain the viewers with their new show, "The Kapil Sharma Show," which will be aired on Sony Entertainment Television from April 23.
Kapil and his team members -- Ali Asgar, Sunil Grover, Kiku Sharda, Sumona Chakravarti, Chandan Prabhakar and Navjot Singh Sidhu -- launched the new show's promo in Mumbai on March 1.
"Me and my team are overwhelmed with the kind of love India has showered on us. Our aim has always been to bring a smile to everyone and with 'The Kapil Sharma Show', we wish to do just that," Kapil said in a statement, IANS reports.
"The Kapil Sharma Show" promises to tickle the audiences' funny bones. Also, Sunil aka Gutthi, Ali aka Dadi and Kiku aka Palak will not reprise their roles in "The Kapil Sharma Show," but will be seen in a brand new avatar. The show will be aired every Saturday and Sunday at 9 p.m.
The first episode of the show will be shot in front of live audience at an event in Delhi. Not just that, fans will also get an opportunity to meet Kapil through a contest, "Kapil Se Mil," the Times of India reports. To participate in the contest, the fans will have to upload a funny video of their family on Sony LiV channel. The winner of the contest will get a chance to meet Kapil on the sets of "The Kapil Sharma Show."
Referring to the buzz that Shah Rukh Khan may be the first guest of "The Kapil Sharma Show," the stand-up comedian-actor said that SRK is likely to come on the show. "Even I heard he will come on the show. I did call him but he did not answer. We are doing a live show in Delhi first. He (SRK) is from Delhi and has Fan releasing soon so he might come. We would love to have him on the show," Kapil said, NDTV reports.
Kapil has been in the news ever since his show "Comedy Night with Kapil" (CNWK) went off air after he had a fallout with Colors Channel. Later, Krushna Abhishek's "Comedy Nights Live" replaced "Comedy Night with Kapil" on the channel.
