Rohit Shetty is back with the fourth instalment of the popular "Golmaal" franchise. Scheduled to open in theatres on Diwali 2017, Ajay Devgn, lead star of the comedy film, will kick-start the first leg of the movie after "Shivaay" is out.
What's interesting to note is Diwali 2017 was blocked for "Sons of Sardaar 2," but the sequel has now been delayed. "Since it involves action, the project will take more time to be completed. So, it was wise of Devgn to slot another film in its place," a source informed Mid-Day.
"Sons of Sardaar 2" is a serious film unlike its predecessor. Based on the battle of Saragarhi, it will see Sanjay Dutt in a lead role and may see Salman Khan play an important role.
What else do we know about "Golmaal 4" so far?
Writer-director duo Sajid-Farhad are busy with the scripting and it's nothing close to hit Tamil film "Soodhu Kavvum." Official publicist of "Golmaal 4" told the press: "We would like to state that the news is completely untrue and baseless."
Tusshar Kapoor, Kunal Kemmu, Arshad Warsi and Shreyas Talpade will be reprising their roles. The makers are on the lookout for a leading lady. Kareena Kapoor Khan was approached for the role, but she had to turn down because of her pregnancy. The actress will apparently only shoot for Rhea Kapoor's "Veere Di Wedding" and string of commercials till October and then take a maternity break.
"Golmaal 4" is Ajay and Rohit's 6th film after "Zameen," "Golmaal," "Golmaal Returns," "Singham," "Golmaal 3," and "Singham Returns."
