The Hindi dubbing rights of Vijay's 61st movie have been sold to Manish Sharma of Goldmine Telefilms. The distributor sealed the deal recently after prolonged negotiations with the makers of the Tamil film.
According to trade reports, Manish Sharma has paid Rs 10.8 crore for the Hindi dubbing rights. This is the second biggest amount for the rights of a dubbed Tamil film, next only to Rajinikanth's Kabali, which was reportedly sold for about Rs 12 crore.
Recently, Manish Sharma had acquired the dubbing rights of Ajith's Vivegam for over Rs 8 crore, the trade reports add.
The film unit is currently busy filming a song sequence in Europe. The movie, being referred to as Vijay 61, is said to have a romantic track shot on Ilayathalapathy and Kajal Aggarwal. The team will return to India soon and the Chennai schedule will commence shortly after their arrival.
So far, the unit of Vijay 61 has completed the shooting in Chennai, Rajasthan and other places. The movie hit the floors on February 1.
Vijay will be playing triple roles in the as-yet untitled film with Nithya Menen, Kajal Aggarwal and Samantha romancing the actors at different times. Ilayathalapathy enacts the role a panchayat head, a doctor and a magician.
The Atlee Kumar-directed film is being bankrolled by Sri Thenandal Films and it is their 100th film. The Tamil movie stars SJ Surya in a negative role, while Vadivelu, Kovai Sarala and others play supporting roles. It features AR Rahman's music, GK Vishnu's cinematography and Ruben's editing.
