Shah Rukh Khan and Alia Bhatt working together in Gauri Shinde's next had made fans of both the celebrities curious since the announcement.
It was earlier reported that SRK and Alia would be romancing each other in the flick, but subsequent reports said the "Dilwale" actor would put in a special appearance, and not be in a lead role.
Also, there will be three fresh faces in the film. Gauri Shinde's film is about a young girl who meets three men and with every new relationship her perspective of life changes.
The film is to be produced by Red Chillies Entertainment, Dharma Productions and Hope Productions.
But, it seems things are not working out between the "English Vinglish" director and Karan Johar.
According to a report on Bollywood Life, the film has been shelved as of now. The report suggests there were creative differences between Gauri and the producer.
This news will disappoint not only the audience but also the actress of the movie who was flying high after she was cast in it.
"Will no longer have any problem with my English Vinglish.. can't wait to be directed by Gauri Shinde with the man himself Shahrukh Khan!!! (sic)" Alia tweeted.
Currently, Karan is busy directing "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil", and later will direct "Shuddhi", which will have Varun Dhawan and Alia in the lead.
The "Shaandaar" actress will be next seen in Dharma Productions' "Kapoor and Sons" alongside Sidharth Malhotra and Fawad Khan. She is also working in "Udta Punjab" opposite Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan.
