Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra is flying high nowadays. The actress received immense appreciation for her brilliant performance in Bollywood film "Bajirao Mastani" and has also bagged a People's Choice Award for her American TV series "Quantico".
This year, Priyanka will appear on the big screen with another challenging role in Prakash Jha's "Jai Gangaajal". In the trailer, it was shown that Priyanka will portray the character of a cop. However, the film will also see the director playing an important role.
The recent buzz is that Jha, who was shown as the villain in the trailer, is actually the real hero. "There was a rumour that Prakash Jha is cast as the villain in his film. That was untrue. Jha is actually the film's hero. He has a better, meatier, more crowd-pleasing role than Priyanka. He has also given himself the juiciest dialogues. And the plot's climax is based on his character," Bollywood Life cited DNA.
Whether these reports are true or not, one can only tell after the film releases. However, when Priyanka can mesmerise viewers with her performance in "Bajirao Mastani" in a supporting role, then the actress can surely win hearts in "Jai Gangaajal", no matter she is the real hero or not.
The film is the sequel to Ajay Devgn-starrer "Gangaajal", and Priyanka is playing the role of tough-as-nails cop Abha Mathur in "Jai Gangaajal". Releasing on 4 March, the filmmakers are currently facing censor board issues.
Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has offered Jha with U/A certificate with 11 cuts in the film, which was not acceptable to the director. Thus, the movie is still in process of getting the certification.
