SS Rajamouli's Bahubali 2, which has been raking in huge money for two weeks, is set to clash with new releases in Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and English in its third week.
Bahubali 2 was released in over 8,000 screens around the world on April 28 and went on a record-breaking spree in its opening week. With no big releases, the movie continued its dream run in the second week and became the highest grossing Indian movie of all time in 10 days. The movie has grossed over Rs. 1,000 crore at the worldwide box office and earned Rs. 534 crore for its distributors.
Bahubali 2 is expected to cross Rs. 1,500 crore mark in its third week. But the film will face huge competition from several industries. These new releases are not only going to reduce its screen count by over 50 percent around the world, but will also eat into the potential collection for Bahubali.

Ram Gopal Varma's Sarkar 3 starring Amitabh Bachchan is the third instalment in the hit Sarkar franchise. On the other hand, Meri Pyaari Bindu stars popular actors Ayushmann Khurrana and Parineeti Chopra. Both these films will replace Bahubali 2 not just in north India, but also in the southern parts of the country.
English movies like Alien: Covenant, King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, The Lost City Of Z and Snatched are set to invade Indian market this week. They are sure to oust Baahubali 2 from several multiplexes across the country.
Three Telugu movies will be released in theatres across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka and the US. Sharwanand and Lavanya's Radha and Venkatapuram are the most hyped among the three, with O Pilla Nee Valla being the third release. The three movies will evict Bahubali 2 from some cinema halls in the above mentioned regions.
Kollywood will see the release of Saravanan Irukka Bayamaen, which is expected to get a good opening, this week. The Udhayanidhi Stalin and Regina Cassandra starrer will replace the Prabhas starrer in several theatres in Tamil Nadu. Jayaram's Achayans and Kunchacko Boban's Ramante Eden Thottam are gearing up to take Bahubali 2's place in many theatres in Kerala.
Meanwhile, Sandalwood movie Maasthi Gudi is set to hit the screens on May 12. The Vijay, Amulya and Kriti Kharbanda starrer is one of the most awaited Kannada movies of 2017. The film will have a massive release in Karnataka. Director Kaaranji Shreedhar's Liftman starring Sunder Raj is another Kannada film to hit the screens this weekend, but it will have only limited screen count.
A total of 15 movies from 6 languages will hit the theatres in India and around the world with a screen count not less than 4,000. The distributors are busy booking cinema halls for the new releases, and the new movies will bring down the collection of Bahubali 2 in its third week.
