Sohail Khan has refuted rumours of him replacing singer Mika Singh in Colors' "Comedy Nights Live" show. Speculations of Sohail judging "Comedy Nights Live" went rife after a leading daily reported that the channel was in talks with the "Jai Ho" director.
A DNA report stated that Sohail might replace Mika on the show. Sohail has previously judged
"Comedy Circus" and shares a good relationship with Krushna Abhishek, host of "Comedy Nights Live."
However, Sohail denied the news and said that the makers have not approached him for the show. "No one has brought up the idea that I should replace Mika, nor have I been approached for this job. I am completely clueless as to where this came from," the Asian Age quoted Sohail as saying.
Mika has reportedly been asked to quit "Comedy Nights Live," after he appeared on rival Kapil Sharma's show "The Kapil Sharma Show." Despite knowing about the fallout between Kapil and Colors' channel, Mika appeared on the ace comedian's show to promote his song "Billo."
His move did not go down well with the channel, Krushna and the producers of "Comedy Nights Live." Krushna even said that he is upset with Mika for appearing on the rival show.
"Yes, I'm upset with Mika. He shouldn't have gone to 'The Kapil Sharma Show.' They are playing games with us, but games won't work, content will," Krushna told India Today Online, adding: "Mika is like a child. But it was a wrong decision on his part to shoot for a rival show. He loves me, I know, but he took a wrong decision by shooting with Kapil."
Meanwhile, there has been no official announcement about Mika being forced to quit the show. But sources told the Asian Age that the makers will take disciplinary action against Mika for appearing on Kapil's show.
