There is no doubt that Akshay Kumar is one of the highest paid Bollywood actors, but there is no truth in the reports of him charging a whopping amount for Divya Khosla Kumar's next.
"Sanam Re" director is currently working on two stories and for that, she approached Akshay, reports suggested. However, Akshay has quoted a huge price of approximately Rs. 56 crore, Deccan Chronicle reported.
"Divya and Akshay have discussed the project, and Akshay has agreed to be a part of it for a huge price—approximately Rs 56 crores. Divya seems to have agreed to the terms," Deccan Chronicle quoted a source as saying.
However, Divya's spokesperson denied the reports and said that she has not approached any A-list stars and is in fact on a break. The spokesperson further said that Divya will work on two of her projects and will then finalise the cast.
"There is no truth to this. Divya is currently on a much needed break and has not signed any actor for her next film. Divya is presently in the development process for her next film and discussions on casting are still some time away," the spokesperson's official statement read.
Divya's husband and T-Series Chairman Bhushan Kumar also denied the reports and said that the story is still in the scripting stage.
In other news, Akshay is busy with the trailer release of his upcoming film "Rustom." The trailer is slated to release on June 30, while the movie will be released on Aug. 12. Divya, on the other hand, has directed two movies "Yaariyan" and "Sanam Re" and is working on her next directorial film.
