Ilayathalapathy Vijay's fans were left disappointed after the teaser release of "Theri" was postponed. The video was supposed to be released on 14 January as a Pongal treat from Ilayathalapathy.

To make up and and lift fans' spirits, a couple of photos of "Theri" have been released and the movie stills have gone viral in no time. A few photos that show the actor in different avatars have kicked up a storm. Ilayathalapathy is stylish and looks as young as ever in the new pictures.

While the teaser was to be released for Pongal, the makers delayed the release as work on it couldn't be completed. A song and a few scenes are reportedly yet to be shot and it will take at least a week for them to complete the pending work. 

The team, which shot an underwater stunt sequence a few days ago, is working towards completing the shooting and hence the film's unit could not make time for the teaser, leading to the postponement of its release. Sources now say that the makers have set their eyes on the Republic Day for the teaser release.

"Theri" is an action-thriller in which Vijay and Amy Jackson play cops. Samantha plays the love interest of Ilayathalapathy in the film, directed by Atlee Kumar of "Raja Rani" fame. This is her second film after blockbuster "Kaththi", written and directed by AR Murugadoss. Mahendran is the baddie in the flick, which also has Prabhu, Raadhika Sarathkumar, Parthiepan, Santhanam and a host of other actors in the supporting roles.

The mega-budget film, which is produced by Kalaipuli S Dhanu, will hit the screens on 14 April to coincide with the Tamil New Year celebration.
