Season 9 of "The Big Bang Theory" ended on a shocking romantic cliffhanger involving Sheldon's mom Mary and Leonard's dad Alfred. It is implied that the duo hooked up, but viewers will get a definite answer only when the sitcom returns for Season 10.
Here are a few things we can expect in Season 10.
Mary and Alfred's hookup: According to showrunner Steve Molaro, the Season 10 premiere will directly delve into what really happened after the duo left. "I don't know what happened. I know they were getting along quite well, and left to go to the same hotel for a nightcap, and turned off their phones," the showrunner told Enetertainment Weekly. "The details of exactly what happened, if we even ever find out all the details, will be left for the season premiere of season 10."
If Alfred and Mary get romantically involved, then there's also the possibility of Leonard and Sheldon becoming family, which neither of them is happy about. At present, both of them are uncomfortable with their parents' possible relationship.
Bernadette and Howard: With the two gearing up to welcome a baby, the next season will focus more into baby planning. Viewers will also possibly see more of Bernadette's family.
Amy and Sheldon: Leonard and Penny got married once again and Howard and Bernadette are expecting their first child together. Will this prompt Amy and Sheldon to take their relationship to the next level? "Maybe, possibly. It's so soon. Those two move famously glacially, so one microscopic baby step at a time for them," Molaro said.
Molaro's plan for Season 10: The showrunner hinted that viewers will see more of Penny's family in the upcoming season. We'll also get to know what the Air Force wants with the guys.
Air Date: "The Big Bang Theory" will return to CBS sometime in the fall.
