Bollywood actress-turned-politician Hema Malini has finally opened up about her traumatic accident and condemned the media for maligning her image, when she was in a helpless situation.
Hema Malini recently suffered injuries, when the Mercedes Benz car she was travelling in hit a Maruti Alto car near Dausa in Rajasthan on 2 July. A two-year-old girl was killed in the accident, while her family members suffered injuries.

While hundreds of accidents take place in India every day, hardly any of them get so much of media coverage as in the case of Hema Malini. As she is a Bollywood celebrity and an MP from the ruling BJP party, TV news channels kept telecasting the photos and videos featuring the bleeding actress throughout the day.
Going a step ahead, some TV channels went on to hold a serious debate on the accident. Pointing at her responsibility as an MP, they accused Hema Malini of failing to help the family, who lost their daughter in the accident. This has got the actress-turned-politician very upset and she slammed the media on Twitter saying that they should be ashamed of their senseless attitude. She tweeted:
As for the sensation-hungry media & a few members of the public who had a field day maligning me even when I was helpless &in deep trauma.. ..
who actually & unbelievably stooped to the lowest levels of human decency, I can only say "Shame on u" &"God Bless"!"
Meanwhile, Hema Malini also offered condolences to the family of the girl, who lost her life in the accident and claimed that her father could have averted the accident by following traffic rules.
My heart goes out to the child who unnecessarily lost her life and the family members who have been injured in the accident. Contd
(Contd)How I wish the girl's father had followed the traffic rules - thn this accident could have been averted & the lil one's life safe!
