Heidi Klum Files for Divorce from Seal; From Marriage to Divorce (PHOTOS)

After making their separation public about three months ago, celebrity couple supermodel Heidi Klum (38) and British singer Seal (49) are going to end their seven years of marriage officially.

People magazine reported that Heidi Klum filed for divorce from Seal, her husband of seven years, on Friday afternoon in Los Angeles Superior Court citing irreconcilable differences.

It is reported that Heidi Klum has reportedly seeked for primary physical custody of their four children Leni, Henry, Johan and Lou with visitation rights for Seal. It will be a joint legal custody. She is also said to have requested the restoration her middle name, as she has officially changed it to Seal's last name Samuel. However, they may not have problems related to their joint property, as they had signed a financial agreement during the time of marriage on how to divide assets.

The celebrity couple, who tied the knot in 2005, shocked the world a few months ago by announcing their separation. They were known for being so affectionate to each other and renew their wedding vows every year besides throwing Halloween costume parties. They have four children between them.

Rumours of their separation surfaced after they were spotted in public places without their wedding rings. They later announced their separation.

"While we enjoyed seven very loving, loyal and happy years of marriage, after much soul-searching, we have decided to separate. We have had the deepest respect for one another throughout our relationship and continue to love each other very much, but we have grown apart," People magazine quoted them as saying.

It was rumoured that they would reconcile but Seal sealed it by flatly denying reunion.

"When you publicize your marriage as much as our marriage was publicized, when you renew your wedding vows, when you do all those things, what you are saying to people is, you're giving people a picture of an ideal relationship that people aspire to," Seal said in February. "When it goes south, you can't all of a sudden take the philosophy of a monk and decide to go for a vow of silence," he added.
