HBO and Facebook have reached a deal to make available the premiere episodes of two of its newest comedy series, "Ballers" and "The Brink".
If you are not an HBO subscriber or if you have missed the first episodes of the network's two comedy series, then you can catch them on Facebook.
For the first time, HBO is giving free access to full episodes of its originals on a social networking site. According to Variety, HBO has made the move keeping in mind the growing popularity of Facebook in the video streaming space.
With an aim to reach a wider audience, the network made the first episodes of "Ballers" and "The Brink", which premiered on 21 June, available on Facebook for a limited time.
After this, the shows will be available on HBO Go and HBO Now. But, the network has made it clear that it will not be available on any other digital platform, including YouTube.
"Ballers", starring Dwayne Johnson, is about a retired footballer who is trying to find a new path as a sports agent. Johnson, who has recorded a special intro for his fans, will post the episodes on his Facebook page, Dwayne The Rock Johnson.
"The Brink", a dark political comedy revolving around the war-torn Middle East, can be streamed on its official Facebook page. This show will also have a special intro that has been recorded by the show's leads.
