If you saw the picture of an Aston Martin Rapide with a Delhi Police livery recently, you may have been left wondering if the security force has gone hi-tech and actually bought one in India. Yes, we are talking about the picture of the Aston Martin Rapide supercar wrapped in red and blue vinyl that has been doing the rounds on the Internet, leaving auto aficionados in the country bemused.

Speculations around the spotted supercar have come aplenty, and many people have even suggested that Delhi Police have finally gone the Dubai police way. The police force in Dubai has a fleet of supercars, and the enviable list even showcases the rare LykanHyperSport and Aston Martin One-77.

Now, the mystery behind the Aston Martin Rapide spotted in India with red and blue vinyl seems to have got resolved. If you are one of those hoping that the supercar is indeed an addition to the patrolling models of Delhi Police, here is the answer. It is not.

The Aston Martin Rapide in white colour with the Delhi Police badging and the "DIAL 100" livery does not belong to any law enforcer in the country. Word has it that the supercar features in the upcoming Karan Johar movie, Drive.

The movie, starring Sushant Singh Rajput and Jacqueline Fernandes, is set to be released in November this year. It will reportedly have some thrilling scenes involving the spotted Aston Martin Rapide supercar. In fact, Karan Johar, the producer of the film, had announced the making of the film in March by tweeting a picture of Lamborghini Murcielago in the backdrop. With Lamborghini Murcielago and Aston Martin Rapide featuring in it, the upcoming Drive is expected to be a visual treat to car lovers in the country.

The Aston Martin Rapide, with 5.9-litre V12 engine, was originally black in colour. The engine of this supercar has the capacity to churn out 470bhp of power and 600Nm of torque and can reach from 0 to 100 kmph in 3.5 seconds. It can attain a top speed of 330kmph.
