Despite featuring an average cast, erotic thriller "Hate Story 3" has shattered the records of Salman Khan's "Bajrangi Bhaijaan".
Several big budgets films released this year were expected to break at least one record of Salman's "Bajrangi Bhaijaan", but it is "Hate Story 3" that managed to do so.
Though "Hate Story 3" raked in only Rs 50 crore from the domestic box office, the return of investment (ROI) is much higher than Salman's "Bajrangi Bhaijaan".
"Hate Story 3" was made on a budget of Rs 13.2 crore and it has earned more than Rs 50 crore in 11 days in India. The return of investment of "Hate Story 3" is more than Rs 36 crore, which is more than 278 percent, while Salman's "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" ROI is approximately 256 percent.
Now "Hate Story 3" has the second best ROI, after Kangana Ranaut's "Tanu Weds Manu Returns". Kangana's film ROI is 390 percent, which is the highest of this year, according to Koimoi.com.
At second position it is "Hate Story 3" with 278 percent ROI, followed by "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" with 256 percent at third and "Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2" at fourth with 244 percent.
"Hate Story 3" will remain the second movie with best box office returns, as its run will come to an end after the release of "Dilwale" and "Bajirao Mastani". But the film has turned out to be a profitable venture.
Directed by Vishal Pandya, the film features Sharman Joshi, Zarine Khan, Daisy Shah and Karan Singh Grover in the lead roles.
