Speculations regarding whether Sunil Grover will return to The Kapil Sharma Show have come to an end with reports of the ace comedian returning to television with his new show in collaboration with Krushna Abhishek doing the rounds.
Yes, Sunil is collaborating with Kapil Sharma's arch rival Krushna, Indian Express reported. Joining them are Ali Asgar, Chandan Prabhakar and others who quit Kapil's show earlier this year. Although Krushna is yet to confirm his participation, he is likely to give his nod.
"A new comedy show with Sunil is definitely happening. Ali, Chandan and Sugandha (Mishra), basically all those who left The Kapil Sharma Show, are going to be a part of it. Krushna is most probably joining them. He is yet to confirm, things are going back and forth as of now but there are really high chances of this collaboration happening," a source from the channel told Express.
With this, we wonder if Sunil has taken the right decision to team up with Krushna, whose previous shows, Comedy Nights Bachao and Comedy Nights Live, had received backlash from several Bollywood celebrities for its format and insensitive humour, resulting in many celebs refusing to promote their films on the show. The comedy series eventually went off air.
On the contrary, Sunil is loved by millions for his character Dr Mashoor Gulati and the clean humour he engages in. His tongue-in-cheek humour is something people love to watch. However, teaming up with Krushna may have an adverse effect, considering that the comedian doesn't have a good rapport with celebrities. Krushna had also lost fans for taking digs at the celebrity guests of his previous shows.
If both the rivals of Kapil - Sunil and Krushna - join hands, it will be a severe blow to Kapil, who will come under a lot of pressure to bring The Kapil Sharma Show to the top. It should be mentioned here that ever since Sunil and others took an exit, The Kapil Sharma Show has been witnessing a drastic drop in its ratings.
