Riding high on the success of three of the most interesting films of 2015 -- "Piku", "Tamasha" and "Bajirao Mastani" -- Deepika Padukone has reportedly hiked her fee from Rs 10 crore to 15 crore.
Some of the trade experts and industry people have given their statements on the development saying she deserves every bit of it.
Producer Ramesh Taurani told Spotboye how the actress is extremely accommodating, adding that someone of her caliber would never charge an unreasonable amount. "An actor's fee depends on the recovery of a film and the budget on which it will be shot. Younger actors, including Deepika don't want to put a question mark on a film's commercial viability by demanding unreasonable fees," Taurani further elaborated.
Meanwhile trade analyst Amod Mehra and director Sidharth Anand believe that the leading lady in question is extremely reliable and also a perfect performer. "Deepika has proved that she's a true blue director's actress. How else do you do justice to the vision of directors as versatile as Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Imtiaz Ali and Shoojit Sircar? She'll pack in so many more surprises in the years to come," Anand stated.
What's interesting to note is, Deepika's stellar performances have not only fetched her praises on home turf but also across oceans. Although she has denied having signed any international project yet, the viral photo with Vin Diesel has sparked rumours of her doing "XXX: The Return of Xander Cage", which will reportedly star Jet Li and Tony Jaa.
