Fitness guru Richard Simmons might be getting ready to publicly accept his new life as Fiona as he apparently made a reference about coming to terms with gender identity in a Facebook post, reported Radar Online.
Simmons on Monday posted online a story from mic.com titled "What's Your True Sexual Orientation?" and "The Kinsey Scale Is Dead" on his wall, and the article reportedly talks about same and opposite sex attraction.
"This was a fascinating read!" commented Simmons. "It's so interesting to see how we get more and more in tune with ourselves and how we behave as time goes on. Love it!" The post has since been deleted.
Simmons was in the public eye for more than three decades, but in 2013 he decided to take a break and live life away from the spotlight. Since then various rumours have come out about the icon, with one report claiming that he was held hostage in his house. Simmons later debunked the report saying he will soon be back in public.
Meanwhile, The National Enquirer is now claiming that Simmons has already transitioned and Radar Online noted that he went under the knife for a breast job and castration surgery.
"It's not true," Simmons' representative Tom Estey told People. "He is not transitioning into a woman. He has decided to live quietly the last few years. He had knee surgery a few years ago and has a bum knee. He is still on Twitter and Facebook and works behind the scenes continuing to inspire and motivate people to lose weight. When he decides to come back, he will come back."
The representative noted that Simmons was in the hospital over the weekend for dehydration, but is now doing well. "He was in the public eye for over three decades, but he deserves his privacy. He should be able to have a private life. He just needed a break. He is still taking care of the people who need his help," said Estey.
