Priyanka Chopra will be pairing up with Abhishek Bachchan in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's upcoming movie Gustakhiyan. Reports say that Abhishek's role was initially offered to Shah Rukh Khan.
Bhansali has reportedly finalised the lead stars for Gustakhiyan that will have PeeCee playing the character of poet and writer Amrita Pritam. Abhishek has been roped in to play the male lead in the movie, according to The Asian Age.
The report also said that Shah Rukh was earlier supposed to play the male lead in the film. Director Rohit Roy had recently met Junior Bachchan to discuss the film's narration.
Earlier, Priyanka had said that she keeps meeting Bhansali on a regular basis, and the two discuss a lot about movies. However, she had claimed that she had not signed any Bollywood movie yet. But she had also added that she is not someone who would reject any film offer from SLB.
Earlier, Abhishek and Priyanka had worked in movies like Dostana, Drona and Bluff Master. On the other side, SRK and Priyanka's pairing in Don was much liked and appreciated. However, there is no official confirmation on the casting of Bhansali's upcoming project.
The director is currently busy with the shooting of Padmavati that features Deepika Padukone in the titular role. The film also has Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor in other lead roles.
