A 40-year-old widow has lodged a rape case against the Gurgaon Municipal Corporation's Deputy Mayor Parminder Katariya, according to ANI.
The latest volley of accusations against a BJP leader has made matters only more embarrassing for the Manohar Lal Khattar-led-government in Haryana. This is the second time a BJP leader in Haryana has been accused of rape.
The 40-year-old mother of two, filed the case at the women's police station of Gurgaon's Sector 51.
In her complaint, she told police that for the past six months she was in a relationship with deputy mayor Katariya. In her complaint, she also alleged that Kataria promised to get her a job in MCG and also assured that he would marry her.
According to Times of India, the woman is Kataria's neighbour and lives alone in her house in Ashok Vihar.
The woman said that recently she had a fallout with Katariya, and when she told him that she would take the matters to the police, she started receiving life threats from three unknown people. The police have filed an FIR based on the woman's complaint.
Last month in a major blow to the Manohar Lal Khattar-led BJP government in Haryana, a trial court in Delhi framed charges against Gurgaon BJP MLA Umesh Aggarwal and two others, including a woman, in the alleged rape of a 30-year-old.
It is alleged that the BJP MLA Aggarwal drugged the woman in his hotel room and then he and another man raped her for two nights.
