At least one person was killed and as many as 100 injured after an EMU train collided with Lokmanya Tilak Express in Haryana's Palwal district on Tuesday morning.
The deceased has been identified as the driver of the EMU (electric multiple unit) train, while the guard of Lokmanya Tilak (Mumbai Haridwar) Express is among the injured persons.
The injured have been shifted to hospitals in Palwal and Faridabad, IANS reported.
The accident took place at around 8:25 am between Palwal and Asaoti Railway Station near Baghola village in Palwal Tehsil.
The EMU shuttle train rammed into the Lokmanya Tilak Express that was halted on the same track, from behind.
Northern Railways' Chief Public Relation Officer (CPRO) Neeraj Sharma said that fog and negligence could have caused the accident.

The railway and district officials are at the accident site where rescue and relief operation is underway. A team of doctors has also been sent to the site.
Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has also asked Palwal deputy commissioner to step up rescue and relief work.
Train services, mostly to Mathura, Okhla, Kosi, Nizamuddin and New Delhi, on the Palwal route have been disrupted due to the accident, according to reports.
