Harry Styles is reportedly writing songs with R&B singer John Legend, sparking speculations that the youngster may be planning to quit "One Direction".
Reports suggest that Harry Styles and John Legend have already written a song for "US X Factor" duo Alex and Sierra and they are planning to write more songs together.
Styles and Legend collaborated after the latter’s manager ran into Styles and set up a meeting between the two.
"We got together for a few hours and wrote what I think is a really lovely song," Legend told The Sun newspaper about the music, according to reports.
Legend also added that he is open to working with Styles in future.
"I'd love to write with him again as he is a very great guy and very talented," Legend said. "He has some really great lyrical ideas and is a very good songwriter."
Although Styles’ fans are excited to see the British boybander charting new career paths, they are saddened by the possibility of him quitting “One Direction.”
Rumors have been rampant that Styles has been spending a great deal of time away from his band members. A source told the Daily Star that the 20-year-old has become a “virtual stranger” to the rest of band, which includes Niall Horan, 20, Liam Payne, 20, Zayn Malik, 21, and Louis Tomlinson.
“The boys want reassurances from Harry that he's in the group for the long haul. They won't let him just use them for his own career ambitions. They want to know what's really going on," an insider revealed to the Daily Star.
Moreover, Styles is also focusing on his movie career. He may very soon be seen acting opposite "Glee" star Lea Michele in a movie version of the Broadway musical"Wicked".
Styles is indeed moving at a fast pace in his career, but it is too soon to say whether he will go solo or stay with “One Direction” itself.
