Harley-Davidson India is all set to make a new addition to its entry level motorcycle family, Sportster. Emerging reports indicate that the American motorcycle maker will add Roadster to India line-up in the festive season.
Harley-Davidson had unveiled Roadster to international markets in April. The company is expected to locally manufacture Roadster here and price it nearly Rs. 10 lakh. Roadster will be the fourth Sportster family member after Iron 883, 1200 Custom and Forty-Eight.
The motorcycle comes with fastback design inspired by classic racing motorcycles and targets the youth as its market. It is powered by an air-cooled 1200cc V-Twin engine that delivers peak torque of 103Nm at 3,750rpm mated to five-speed transmission.
Roadster features 19-inch front and 18-inch rear split 5-spoke cast aluminum wheels. It comes with a new low-rise handlebar and mid-mount foot controls that centre the rider's weight. The front suspension of the motorcycle features a new 43mm inverted forks with triple clamps while the rear features gas-charged suspension. The stopping power comes from dual 11.8-inch floating rotors on the front wheel. The Roadster is also available with optional ABS brakes.
The Roadster model will be offered in four colour -- vivid black with a charcoal denim pinstripe, black denim with a red pinstripe, velocity red sunglow with a red pinstripe and two-tone billet silver or vivid black with a burgundy pinstripe.
