After revealing Shah Rukh Khan's ripped look in "Happy New Year", the makers have now let the fans in on the plot of the film.
Shah Rukh's character Charlie is a Boston-return, 'well-educated' person, who fails to get a job in India. As a result, he is forced to take up street-fighting to make his living, according to reports.
"He is a very well-educated Boston returned who, due to circumstances, is not getting a job and for whatever reasons, therefore is a fighter at an underground fight club where these rich people come," director Farah Khan told The Times of India.
The introductory scene will see him in a chiseled avatar. Fighting the bad guys, Charlie then sets out to restore the lost glory of his family.
"We have introduced him like a fighter in a kick-boxing kind of situation. His family has been implicated by Jackie Shroff, so he is wanting this revenge for which he collects his team, most of which is known to him from before, and he is the mastermind of the full heist," the director added.
Deepika Padukone will essay the role of an out-of-work bar dancer by the name of Mohini, and Abhishek Bachchan (Nandu Bhide) interestingly plays a double role in the film. "Abhishek plays a double role for the first time in his career. One of the two characters in the film is tapori and an alcoholic," a source close to the development told Bollywood Hungama.
Slated to release on 24 October, "Happy New Year" is about six 'losers' who come together to loot diamonds during their stint at the World Dance Championship.
Peppered with mad gags, dance sequences and gravity-defying stunts, this dance heist film promises to be a through and through entertainer, and a box-office hit for sure.
