'Happy New Year' Official Trailer Released: 'Indiawaale' Set to Steal Hearts this Diwali [VIDEO+PHOTOS]

After a tantalizing motion poster, a trailer as crackling as this was expected.

Farah Khan's latest directorial is a roller coaster ride. Visually stunning and stylish, "Happy New Year" (HNY) promises a lot of fun. It's about the story of '6 losers' who come together to steal 'handful of diamonds'.

Looking dapper in a rugged look, Shah Rukh Khan tells his gang about how they'd have to participate in a 'world dance championship' in order to perform the heist better. With some interesting twists and turns and loud naach-gaana, this comic caper will leave you entertained for sure.

Released ahead of the Independence Day, the grand trailer launch event was soaked in patriotic flavour. It began with an extraordinary dance performance by the Fictitious Group, which was followed by a special rendition of the song "Indiawaale" by film's composers Vishal and Shekhar. And it doesn't end there, Bollywood's favourite designer Manish Malhotra made the cast of the film walk the ramp in his rich designs.

While the trailer is out for public viewing only from Thursday, some of the industry experts were part of an exclusive screening at Shah Rukh's humble abode, Mannat. Here's what they tweeted:

From sending out personalized film posters on social media, to releasing the trailer on the popular messaging app Whatsapp, the makers of "HNY" have adopted many unique marketing strategies. And official Twitter handles of the film's cast being changed to their character names ahead of the trailer release just triggered the excitement among the fans.

Slated for a Diwali release on October 23, "HNY" comes across as an extravagant heist to be pulled off in style by the ensemble cast - Charlie (Shah Rukh Khan), Mohini (Deepika Padukone), Nandu (Abhishek Bachchan), Tammy (Boman Irani), Jag (Sonu Sood) and Rohan (Vivaan Shah).
