Shah Rukh Khan's "Happy New Year" (HNY) has taken the top spot at the overseas box office chart with the highest collection.
The musical heist drama "Happy New Year", which is dominating the box office chart, has shattered the records of "Bang Bang" starring Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif to become 2014's highest grosser film in the international market.
The film, which also stars Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Sonu Sood, Boman Irani, Vivaan Shah and Jackie Shroff, was released in around 1,000 screens in the international market.
"HNY" released on 24 October has so far minted approximately ₹84.86 crore (over $13.81 million) from international markets, while "Bang Bang" in its lifetime run had earned ₹80.64 crore ($13.1 million).
"Happy New Year" has also become the sixth highest grosser of all time abroad. The overseas box office chart features Shah Rukh's five films including "My Name is Khan", "Chennai Express", "Jab Tak Hai Jaan" and "Don 2".

US-Canada: ₹19.54 crore (3 million USD)
UK-Ireland: ₹10.81 crore (£ 1,101,797)
Australia: ₹3.46 crore (AS$ 648,532)
New Zealand: ₹1.27 crore (NZ$ 265,760)
Malaysia: ₹57 lakh (MYR 310,616)
Lebanon: ₹2 lakh (LBP 4,929, 944)
In India, the heist drama is going steady at the collection centers in the second week. On second Monday, the film registered the lowest collection in two weeks. The collection, however, went up on the next day due to Muharram holiday across the country.
The second weekend (excluding south) breakup of the film is: Friday ₹5.26 crore, Saturday ₹7.46 crore, Sunday ₹9.51 crore, Monday ₹2.75 crore and Tuesday approximately ₹3.4 crore.
The overall domestic net income of the film after 12 days stands at ₹185.9 crore. The worldwide net income (domestic and overseas) after 12 days stands at ₹213 crore, while the gross earnings has surpassed ₹310 crore total.
