The advance booking Shah Rukh Khan's "Happy New Year" has received phenomenal response at the domestic box office. Last time Ajay Devgn's "Singham Returns" received huge response and it took a flying start by earning ₹32 crore on day one.
And the kind of response "Happy New Year" has received at the box office, it seems like that the film would go past ₹40 crore mark on day one easily.
The film marks the comeback of hit jodis Shah Rukh-Deepika Padukone, Shah Rukh-Farah Khan and SRK-Farah-Deepika. The makers have generated huge curiosity among movie-goers and on social media.
Due to the huge pre-release hype, the pre-booking counter started with a bang on Wednesday, which will result in huge opening day box office income. Looking at the pre-booking status of the film, trade analysts are expecting that the film will beat "Dhoom 3" record on Friday.
Aamir Khan's "Dhoom 3", which was released on a non-holiday Friday, has the highest opening day collection (₹36.22 crore). If "Happy New Year" manages to earn ₹40 crore on opening day, than its likely that it will earn ₹100 crore in its opening weekend.
With festive week, the film bears very strong prospects of opening on a grand note in India as well as in overseas market. Also, the film has no competition as its a solo release and the last two week's releases had a dismal performance.
Meanwhile, talking about the advance booking the film has had phenomenal response from nearly all the circuits in India. In states inlcuding Maharashtra, National Capital Region, West Bengal, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Karnataka circuits, the pre-booking report is very strong.
Directed by Farah, the film features SRK, Deepika, Abhishek Bachchan, Sonu Sood, Boman Irani and Vivaan Shah in key roles. The film also features other prominent Bollywood celebs and SRK's wife Gauri Khan and his youngest son, AbRam Khan, in guest appearances.
