Shivanasamudra

Situated on the banks of River Kaveri, Shivanasamudra is a small town, known as the largest waterfront regions in India. It has two major waterfalls Gaganachukki and Barachukki. It's about 120 km and three hours away from Bangalore, on the Kanakapura/Mysore Road. This is also the place where Asia's second oldest hydroelectric power station is located.

Sravanabelagola

Located in the midst of Mysore and Hassan, Sravanabelagola is one of the chief pilgrim centres in Karnataka. One of the prominent attractions of the town is Bahubali statue -- the world's tallest monolithic figurine of the Jain saint, Lord Gomateshwara. The temple is on top of a small hill and you will have to take a 20-30min walk to reach there. On the way to the top, you can see ancient scripts on the rocks. Travelling time to Sravanabelagola is only three hours on Bangalore-Mangalore highway by car.

Kunti Betta

Kunti Betta is small hill in the quaint town of Pandavapura about 130 km from Bangalore and it will take you about three hours to reach here. A night trek is one of the most popular activities around the town of Pandavapura . What better way than to trek your way into the New Year. And if you decide to do this, you can experience the beautiful sunrise on New Year's Day and trek down to a nearby dam to take a refreshing swim/kayaking.

Yelagiri Hills

The Yelagiri Hills are spread over an area of 30 km at an altitude of 3500 ft. Yelagiri hills have some well known trekking trails, some smaller peaks are Javadi Hills and the Palamathi Hills. It will take you about two hours to reach this destination.

Hassan

Hassan derives its name from Goddess Hasanamba, who is the main deity of the region. Travellers can enjoy trekking around the hills in the town or bask in the silence away from the chaos of the city life. Devarayana Durga

Devarayanadurga is a popular hill station, located at a height of 3940 ft, near the natural spring Namada Chilume. The hilltop has the Yoga Narasimha and Bhoga Narasimha temples. It will take you about one-and-a-half hour to get here.

Pearl Valley

Muthyalamaduvu is a tourist attraction located near Anekal, Karnataka. The place is also known as Pearl Valley. It is famous for its waterfall and the beautiful mountain ranges it overlooks. The water from the falls slides down the flora of the place creating an illusion of a string of pearls, hence the name Pearl Valley. It's about a hour and a half drive to Pearl valley from Bangalore.
