Actress Priyanka Chopra has proved her worth not only as an actress, but also as a terrific singer.
Since making her debut in the Hindi film industry, the actress has honed her skills and is now among the top leading ladies of Bollywood. PeeCee has mesmerised viewers with her beautiful looks and acting skills.
She has been seen essaying challenging roles in "Mary Kom", "Barfi!", "Dostana", "Fashion", "Kaminey", "Aitraaz" and others. The "exotic" singer always performs with excellence.
But there are a few prominent roles that the diva rejected, but which could have added more stars to her stardom.
Here are the films that Chopra rejected:
"Happy New Year"
Although it is said that Deepika Padukone was signed for "Happy New Year" before "Om Shanti Om"; however, it has been learnt that she was not finalised for the role. Rumours buzzed during "HNY" casting that PeeCee was one of the top choices for the film. But, the choice was not considered and the pair - Padukone and SRK - gave another hit after "Chennai Express."
"Cocktail"
It seems Chopra is not interested to work with rival Kareena Kapoor's husband Saif Ali Khan. PeeCee was offered "Cocktail", but she rejected it. The role went to Diana Penty. In fact, Saif's last year's release "Happy Ending" was offered to Priyanka but the actress turned that down too.
"2 States"
Makers of "2 States" first planned to cast Shah Rukh and Priyanka. Even the former tried to convince her to accept the role. But, as everybody knows the controversies that surrounded these two, might be the reason that this pair didn't star in the blockbuster hit.
"Robot"
Rumour has it that Chopra was offered Rajinikanth starrer "Robot". Well the news is correct or not, only Priyanka can tell.
"Heroine"
Priyanka was also reportely chosen to play the lead role in Madhur Bhandarkar's "Heroine". The director decided to cast Aishwarya Rai Bachchan for the project as well, but later Kareena Kapoor Khan was cast.
On this rumour, PeeCee expressed herself on Twitter, saying, "Read some stupid article about how i wanna do @mbhandarkar268 s film HEROINE... I think madhur is an amazing director and... it'll be amazing to work together again but GUYS this one aint it!!! I wish him and Aishwarya lots of luck with the film. I also wish that journo's would actually do some journalism rather than scriptwriting and stop deciding my next moves!!"
"Milan Talkies"
This is a bit heart-breaking as Priyanka is replaced by newbie Shraddha Kapoor in Tigmanshu Dhulia's "Milan Talkies".
It seems Chopra was too excited to work with the director, but the "Haider" actress was chosen. When asked about it, Priyanka said, "They (the Milan Talkies team) haven't got back to me."
