The nine-day Navratri festival has kick started from 13 October. It is celebrated to honour Goddess Durga and her nine forms.
The nine forms are said to symbolise creative energy and the feminine body. Each form of the goddess has a day dedicated to it.
Residents of West Bengal and Gujarat are particularly known to celebrate the festival in a grand manner.
Navratri concludes with the festival of Dussehra on the tenth day, which falls on 22 October this year.
On this occasion, the social media is filled with Navratri wishes. Even Bollywood celebs, including Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher, Juhi Chawla and many others, have wished their fans via their Twitter handles.
