To celebrate the bond, Father's Day is observed in most places around the world on the third Sunday of June every year, and this year it falls on June 18. However, the special day to celebrate fatherhood is also observed on different dates in some other parts of the world.

Though many stories exist about the origin of Father's Day, according to Dictionary.com, the observance was started by Sondra Smart Dodd/Sonora Louise Smart, who was inspired by the concept of Mother's Day in 1909. It is believed that the first Father's Day was celebrated in Washington State in June 1910.

Meanwhile, a few others believe that it was Grace Golden Clayton, who got the inspiration to celebrate Father's Day on July 5.
