Megastar Chiranjeevi's son and "Magadheera" hero Ram Charan Teja is celebrating his birthday today (27 March). The actor turns 28.

The heartthrob of Telugu cinema began his acting career in 2007 with super hit movie "Chirutha" starring alongside Delhi-based model Neha Sharma. Ram Charan won accolades for his performance in the movie. He received the CineMAA award for Best Male Debut, Filmfare for Best Actor and the prestigious Nandi special jury award for "Chirutha".
Following the success of his film, the actor starred in numerous movies that established him as a youth icon. Director SS Rajamouli's historical drama film "Magadheera" which was released in 2009 showed him in a new avatar. The actor portrayed a double role in the movie that once again won him the Nandi special jury award and the Filmfare award for Telugu Best actor.
"Magadheera" went on to become a super successful film and was reportedly the highest grosser in the history of Telugu cinema. Following the success of his films, Ram Charan picked up scripts that had all commercial elements. The actor is continuing his winning streak at the box office with the recently released "Naayak" in which he once again starred with Kajal Agarwal, his "Magadheera" heroine.
Ram Charan was born into one of the most influential families of Tollywood. His father megastar Chrianjeevi was a successful actor who starred in more than 130 films. Actor-turned-politician Chiranjeevi took charge as the Union Tourism Minister last year.
Ram Charan's uncles Pawan Kalyan and Nagendra Babu are both actors. Pawan Kalyan, popularly known as 'power star' in Tollywood, continues to entertain his fans with his style and acting skills. One of the leading stars of Telugu films, Allu Arjun, is Ram Charan's maternal cousin.
The "Magadheera" hero married Upasana Kamineni last year in a grand celebration that witnessed the presence of A-list actors from all South Indian film industries as well as Bollywood. Superstar Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan are among the wave of celebrities who graced the occasion and blessed the couple.
After establishing himself as a successful actor in Telugu cinema, the actor is all set make his foray into Bollywood with his upcoming film "Zanjeer". The movie, a remake of a 1970s Amitabh Bachchan starrer, is being made simultaneously in both Hindi and Telugu. The trailer of the Telugu version titled "Thoofan" was unveiled on Monday (25 March) in Hyderabad. The film is slated for a summer release.
