Superstar Rajinikanth turned 65 on Saturday, 12 December. This time, the actor has called off celebrations and urged fans to help in rebuilding flood-hit Chennai. 

Often referred to as "Thalaivar", Rajinikanth is worshipped by many ardent fans for his humble nature and the way he treats them.

Before becoming an actor in K Balachander's "Apoorva Ragangal" in 1975, Rajinikanth worked as a coolie, carpenter and a bus conductor for the Bangalore Transport Service. Later, he became part of many Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Bengali, and English films.

As per the latest tweet of Rajinikanth's daughter Aishwarya, the actor is currently in Goa, where he is working for his upcoming film. He is also awaiting the release of "Kabali".
