Arjun Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor are set to show their chemistry in their upcoming movie, Half Girlfriend. Slated to be released on May 19, the film might face difficulty to cross Rs 100 crore mark at the box office.
Half Girlfriend is based on Chetan Bhagat's book of the same name. This is the second time Arjun is playing the lead role in a movie inspired by Chetan's novel. Arjun acted in the film, 2 States, opposite Alia Bhatt. On the other hand, Shraddha has worked with director Mohit Suri in Aashiqui 2. 2 States and Aashiqui 2 were a hit at the box office.
Now, all four of them have joined hands to entertain the audience. Will Half Girlfriend cross Rs 100 crore mark? However, the opening collection of the Mohit Suri directorial is predicted to be around Rs 3-5 crore. The film's earnings will get affected with the never-dying-craze for Baahubali 2.
The movie has gained hype firstly because of Chetan Bhagat's novel and secondly, the songs of the film. Shraddha plays Riya Somani, while Arjun will be seen with his Bihari accent as Madhav Jha.
Along with Half Girlfriend, there's one more Bollywood movie which is releasing on May 19 – Hindi Medium. The movie stars Irrfan Khan and Pakistani actress Saba Qamar. The movie has not gained that much hype, but is said to be delivering a good story.
The opening box office collection of Irrfan's movie is predicted to be around Rs 2 crore. Hindi Medium deals with a couple's struggle to get their daughter admitted to a posh English school.
To promote the movie, Irrfan took All India Bakchod (AIB) team help. They together have created a video about memes and Irrfan is hilarious in it.
