A hacker using the pseudonym 'Amped Attacks' has been on an attacking spree. Unlike other hackers who prefer to take down famous websites that many people rely on, this hacker who specialises in distributed denial-of-service (DDOS) attacks is taking down racist and homophobic sites across the Internet.

A distributed denial of service attack (DDoS) simply means that multiple systems attack a single target, thereby shutting down its services and hindering its benefit to their users, according to tech-target website.

Just as anyone can use a hashtag on a social-working platform, in the same way Amped Attacks uses the term #tangodown in his tweets. 'Tangodown' is a hashtag used by an anonymous hackers group, but Amped Attacks does not necessarily associate himself with that group, venturebeat.com reported.

Amped Attacks temporarily killed multiple sites on Wednesday. One of them was godhatesfags.com, which is now operational again.

"Amped Attacks is drawing attention to these racist and homophobic sites. To, be honest, I do not see this as a problem," venturebeat.com reported.

In a separate incident over the weekend, Amped Attack temporarily knocked down another website called KKK, but the website soon resurfaced.

This unique hacker-cum-attacker makes it a point to warn his victims beforehand:

On the other hand, some people find it reassuring to know that there are other people who hate such sites as much as the others do, venturebeat.com claimed.
