The Premier League witnessed some huge matches in GW 12 with Arsenal drawing Manchester United, while Manchester City and Chelsea emerged victorious. Most of the Fantasy Premier League users have players from these clubs. How did it help you? Did you do well? These are all questions of GW 12, but it is time to think about GW 13, where one will be thinking of making some changes to strengthen their side.
As always, FPL users, to a large extent, spend their cash on strikers, rightly so. They can score some important points by scoring goals. However, strikers do not come for cheap money, and one has to do a lot of research before buying one. If you are on this story right now, consider yourself lucky, as I have already done the research for you and brought some top strikers, whom you should invest in GW 13, and expect a good return.
Jermain Defoe (£7.5) – Sunderland vs Liverpool
For all those, who do not have much money to spend in the bank, but looking for a quality striker, your search ends here. Do not waste time, just go and pick him. If you are not yet sure about it, let me throw you an interesting fact, he has collected 30 FPL points in his last three matches with three goals. If this player does not feel right for you, nothing will.
Pros – He can create havoc in Liverpool's shaky defence
Cons – To be honest, there is nothing
Diego Costa (£10.6) – Chelsea vs Tottenham Hotspur
Yes, the Chelsea striker does not come at a high price, but the Spaniard is in rich-goal scoring form, scoring a goal each of his last three matches. Costa has scored 10 goals in the Premier League so far, and is one of the in-form strikers in the league, which should be good enough reason for you to shelve 10.6 to boost your team.
Pros – Goal scoring form
Cons – Playing against a top Tottenham side
Christian Benteke (£7.5) – Crystal Palace vs Swansea
The former Liverpool striker might not have been a good player for the Reds, but for Crystal Palace, he has been a quality performer. He is getting in the right areas to score goals. Yes, some of you might be surprised by my selection, but looking at their next opponent, Swansea, Benteke will be a huge aerial threat. Goals for sure are coming Benteke's way. Mark my words.
Pros – Brilliant in the air, goals likely
Con – Has scored one in last five matches
Sergio Aguero (£13.2) - Manchester City vs Burnley
The Manchester City striker is one of the best players in the PL, irrespective of his form. The striker does not need much chance to score, and the best thing is that he also takes penalty for the club. So, the more chances for him to add to his goal tally. However, there have been times when the Argentina gaol-scorer has not been consistent, but then he has scored two to three goals so often, which is a welcome bonus.
Pros: Takes penalty too
Cons: Costly
