"MSG-2 The Messenger" starring self-styled spiritual leader Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh is scheduled to have a premiere in Gurgaon on Wednesday, which is likely to create heavy traffic jams in the city.
Reports suggest that around 50,000 fans of Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh will attend the premiere show and authorities have asked the city dwellers to avoid using personal vehicles to ease the expected congestion.
"It's an advice, not an order. We are not telling people to stay indoors but doing our best to inform people about traffic snarls that may or may not happen so that residents can plan their routes accordingly," Gurgaon Police Commissioner, Navdeep Singh Virk told The Times of India.
The premiere of "MSG-2 The Messenger" will be held at Leisure Valley Park at 6 pm, but fans will be allowed to enter the premises from 1 pm onwards. Around 1,000 police officials, along with several fans of the "MSG-2 The Messenger" actor, will be deployed on the roads of Gurgaon to manage the traffic.
Apart from the Leisure Valley Park area, several other connected roads such as IFFCO Chowk, Signature Tower crossing, HUDA City Centre, sector 29, MG Road, Sohna Road, Rajiv Chowk and Sushant Lok area are also likely to face traffic jams, according to reports.
A similar premiere show was organised in Gurgaon when the first part of the movie came out but had to be cancelled at the last moment, as the makers of the movie could not get permission for the same. Around 70,000 fans of controversial godman Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh arrived in Gurgaon to attend the event then, which created chaos.
However, this time makers of "MSG-2 The Messenger" have the required permission for the film's premiere, and the authorities have apparently taken all measures to avoid any kind of chaos and confusion.
