One person was reported injured in an encounter with the police in Gurgaon in the national capital region (NCR) on Wednesday.
One of the gunmen was injured and he was arrested along with three others, ANI news agency reported.
The encounter took place in daylight in Gurgaon's Sector 10, as per reports.
The gunmen were reportedly travelling in a Santro car, and when the police tried to pull them over, they opened fire, NDTV reported.
The police returned fire and injured the driver, according to the report. All four were arrested.
The Gurgaon shooting comes days after a youth was shot dead at a cafe last week.
In July, gunmen had opened fire at an SUV in Gurgaon in a suspected gang war, killing one person.
