Madhuri Dixit and Juhi Chawla's "Gulaab Gang" trailer has finally been unveiled.
The first look poster of the film with a fierce-looking Madhuri was undoubtedly impressive and the now the trailer carries on the feel with equal aplomb.
A rustic setting with Madhuri Dixit's 'Gulaab Gang' of patriarchy defying women is the first glimpses that draw the viewer and the catchy dialogues that follow is enough to bring home the film's central idea, as Madhuri mouths, "Hamare yaha ek kahawat hai... danda sabka pir hota hai. Rod is God."
The trailer shows the diva as the towering figurehead of her women group, which attempts to straighten the wrongdoings of the chauvinistic men of the village. However, the twist comes in the form of the shrewd and calculative politician played by Juhi Chawla, Madhuri's nemesis.
Interesting verbal exchanges between the two are a sheer delight to watch. While Juhi is seen boasting of her power and saying: "Chappar fad ke de sakti hun aur chappal fad ke bhi," Madhuri is quick to retort. "…Niche wali jab leti hai to patloon fad ke leti hai," the actress is heard saying.
Going by the look of the trailer, the film would rightfully present the brigade's tactics in overriding the predominant village bigotry, along with the delicious faceoff of Madhuri and Juhi - the good versus the evil.
Directed by debutant director Soumik Sen, "Gulaab Gang" is slated for 7 March release, a day prior to the International Women Day.
