Ajayan, also known as Undapakru, who was recognised as the world's shortest comedy actor by the Guinness Book of World Records in 2008, wants to set another record -- this time, as the shortest movie director in the world.
Two-foot and six-inch Pakru, who started his carrier as a mimicry artist, is now one of the leading actors in Malayalam and Tamil film industries.
Undapakru, also known as Guinness Pakru, says he always wanted to direct a film and it has now become a reality, according to IANS.
"My film has been titled as 'Kuttiyum Kolum' and it would go on the floors starting October. We expect to do the post production in November, and it would hit the theatres in the end of December," Ajayan told reporters in Thiruvananthapuram Friday, according to IANS.
"Kuttiyum Kolum" is based on a popular game of the same name played in rural Kerala.
"The film revolves around the friendship of two friends and the film opens with a game of 'Kuttiyum Kolum'. In the film my character's name is Kutti and we are scouting for an actor to play the role of Kolu," Ajayan said.
The movie is produced by United Films-Pavithran Group and will be shot in Palakkad.
Ajayan's profession took a new turn when he played a major role in the movie "Albudhadweep", directed by Vinayan, and he has never looked back since then. In "Albudhadweep", he essayed the role of dwarf prince Gajendra of the Kingdom of Vamanapuri on a fantasy island, where the men are dwarfs and women have normal heights.
